What do you guys think about the movei The happening?

I thought it was good, but i had an idea during the movie.
What about if the people that dies (suicide) were having these feelings and actions that the human race have done to the earth so far. So forth, they feel so guilty and so ashamed that they do want to suicide just to "tell" to the earth (or wind) that we are not worthy of living this life.
I think it would make sense.
